Thank you for your interest in the Children Of The World Kazakhstan program.  We work with a dependable facilitation group that is authorized to place available orphans with American families.  They are responsible for locating eligible children, translating documents, and coordinating the adoption process in Kazakhstan.  Children of mostly Asian descent and of all ages are available; infants through school age.   
We currently project our families receiving  referral 4-6 weeks after completion of home study process and dossier.  Travel to Kazakhstan may follow almost immediately.  Time frames highly depend on the age of the child referred for adoption.  

According to Kazakhstan regulations, one two-week trip is required to complete an adoption process.  Parents-to-be travel to Almaty, Kazakhstan, where they have a choice of either hotel or apartment stay while they visit the child and complete all necessary court proceedings.  After the process in Almaty is complete, family travels to Moscow, Russia, to get child's visa at the US Embassy.  As soon as the visa received, family is free to return home with their newly adopted child.
