Welcome to one of our largest and most developed programs since 1996. We are approved by the China Center for Adoption Affairs to place healthy infants and children with applicants who are between the ages of 30 and 55 years of age. Applicants can have no prior arrest record, must be heterosexuals and have no more than four children.
Applicants between the age of 30 and 45 can request a child from 0 to 12 months.  Applicants between the ages of 46 and 50 can request a child from 13 to 36 months. Applicants between the ages of 51 and 55 can request a child from 3 to 6 years. Applications are accepted from anywhere in the United States. Please contact our office for United States citizens living abroad. For single applicants: please contact our office for a time frame before submitting a pre application. Our number of single applicants acceppted can only be 8 percent of the total estimated number of adoptions that our agency will process in a year.
As a part of our commitment to the program and our families, we have an office and a full-time staff person in Beijing. She serves as our liaison with the Chinese Government as well as our travel assistant. In addition, all of the travel is done in groups, and families are always escorted to the Peoples Republic of China by one of our staff members and our China liaison.
Families stay in China for 10 to 14 days before returning to the United States. Besides necessary adoption business, families get a chance to see the Great Wall and Forbidden City. Also, when possible, families can visit their child’s orphanage and/or child’s city of birth.
The adoption process is currently taking  12 to 16 months from log in date to referral. Travel begins approximately six weeks after acceptance of the referral. Children of the World provides the following quality services for our adoptive parents: Assistance with the U.S. "C.I.S." requirements, assistance with dossier preparation, authentications of your dossier, individual attention, travel workshops, cultural events and a personal escort to China.
